Rules
Our rules packet has something for everyone: a short summary of the rules, a longer summary of the most important things, and rules that our league wants us to be aware of. You can also learn more about Spirit of the Game, which is a big deal in Ultimate.
Ultimate is self-refereed at almost all levels, which teaches maturity in competitive situations. Thus, a knowledge of the rules is important. Our goal is not to be super nitpicky. Rather, familiarity with the rules helps our team and other teams play fairly, and respectfully, and grow as Ultimate players.
How our league scoring works:
Games will be played to 13 points. There is no “win by 2.”
Halftime will begin when the first team reaches 7 points or 45 minutes after the game starts.
A “soft cap” will be enforced at 90 minutes after the game starts. When 90 minutes expire—during play or between points—the game continues until another point is scored. Then, one point is added to the higher team’s score. The team that scores this new point total wins the game.
